2018-2019 Scholarship Recipients

Amaan Atkins


Amaan is a senior who is planning on pursuing music education in college. He is active in his school's musical theatre program as well as their classical music program and chorus program. He attended the Georgia Governor's  Honor's Program as a voice major in 2018. He studies voice with Erin Shepherd Murray.


Kennedi Brookins


Since Kennedi was little, she has had passion for singing and acting. Her singing and acting  talents flourished when she joined the Atlanta Young Singers and Dekalb Elementary School of the Arts. She is now in high school at the Dekalb School of the Arts. In 2018 she traveled with the Atlanta Young Singers to Riga, Latvia and Sweden to sing in the World Choir Games (2014).  This past summer they traveled to South Africa to sing at Nelson Mandela’s 100th Anniversary. She is very thankful to have received a voice lesson scholarship from The Performing Arts Conservatory of Atlanta. This scholarship has already positively impacted her by helping her voice grow and mature. She is currently studying with Maria Clark  

Sam Greene


Sam Greene is a senior at Lakeside High School where he has been involved in both musical theatre and the chorus program since he was a freshman. Sam's stage credits include Pugsley in The Addams Family Musical, Jesus in Godspell, Daniel in Once On This Island, and Amos in Chicago. Sam plans to pursue a career in musical theatre, and is currently in the process of auditioning for prestegious schools across the country. You can hear his prescreen videos by clicking below. Harley McCullar


Harley is a junior at North Forsyth High School this year. He is a Baritone who serves as the Lead Ambassador for NFHS Chamber Choir, the Teaching Assistant for the entry-level chorus and musical theater class, the Vice President for their Tri-M Chapter, and State Representative of Honor Thespian Troupe 5368. Harley is a 2018 Voice Major graduate from Governor’s Honors Program and has participated in chorus since the 5th grade. He has been selected for GMEA All-State Chorus since the 8th Grade, 9th District Honor Chorus consecutively since the 7th Grade, and is an active Choral Scholar at Cumming First United Methodist Church. Harley has also recently performed in various musical theater productions such as leads in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers(2018), White Christmas (2018), Joseph’s Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2017), and Nightmare with Edgar Allan Poe(2017). He has received voice lessons from Janine Arecco at Ponce de Leon Music Center in Cumming, GA and is currently under the instruction of Dr. Pilkington at United Music Studios. 

Harley has cultivated his talents through his involvement in numerous selective programs, competitions, conferences, community theater shows, school musicals, intensives, and in educating other students throughout his pre-professional experience; he actualizes his passion for music each day as a mentor, scholar, artist on his journey to become a Voice Major.

Grace McGrail


Grace McGrail is a freshman at Lakeside High School. Music has always been a big part her life so she is always trying to better herself and be as involved in music as possible. PACA has given her a scholarship so that she can take voice lessons and she is super grateful! Voice lessons have taught her so much so far and she cannot wait for her musical knowledge and ability to improve!

Phoenix Rosso


Phoenix Rosso is a  16 years old  junior at Chamblee Charter High School where she has  been in two past productions: The Pajama Game and Guys and Dolls. She has been self-taught in singing since age 9. In addition to singing, she also plays 7 other instruments. She plans to major in music in college. Music has been her outlet and a way to express herself and her feelings in a way that words and other forms of communication could never allow her to do. It has also helped her meet life-long friends and overcome some of her shyness. She is currently studying voice with Ashley Robinson. 

Ana Soriano


Ana Soriano is a 16 years old student at Chamblee Charter High School.

Ana has been part of Atlanta Young Singers for 8 years and she competed in the World Choir Games in 2014 in Riga, Latvia. In 2016, she sang at the World Premiere for Eternal Light at Carnegie Hall from composer and conductor Cristian Grases. In the summer of 2018, she traveled to South Africa as part of Ihlombe, celebrating the 100th anniversary of Nelson Mandela. Ana has been conducting for 6 years in the Children’s Choir of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She teaches music to kids in her Hispanic community as part of her desire to help parents who can’t afford music and voice lessons.

As daughter of an immigrant parent, Ana knows the necessity of learning to succeed. She will pursue a major in Music Education and Conducting in Chorus.

Luis Vijil


Luis Vijil is a senior at Lakeside High School. This triple threat hopes to major in musical theatre, and is currently in the process of applying to schools all over the country. Luis studies with Erin Shepherd Murray.
